Founded with a clear vision to grow the game locally, Aston Warriors has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting new rugby league clubs in the region. Based at Aston Old Edwardians Rugby Club, our home ground provides a strong foundation for competitive rugby league, player development, and community engagement.
A Club Built on Early Success
The Aston Warriors Men’s Team was formed in 2024 and made an immediate impact on the Midlands rugby league scene. In just two seasons, the team recorded back-to-back winning campaigns, finishing with an unbeaten record in the Midlands Merit League. This outstanding achievement led to promotion to the Midlands Premier Division for the 2026 season, a major milestone for a young and ambitious club.
This success is a reflection of the commitment shown by players, coaches, and volunteers who have helped establish strong standards both on and off the pitch. From training sessions to matchdays, the men’s team continues to represent Aston Warriors with pride, discipline, and a competitive edge.
Expanding the Warriors Family in 2026
The 2026 season marks a significant step forward for Aston Warriors Rugby League Club. Building on the success of the men’s team, the club is proud to be launching both a Women’s Rugby League Team and a Junior Rugby League Section.
The introduction of the Aston Warriors Women’s Team supports the continued growth of women’s rugby league in Birmingham and the Midlands. The team will provide a welcoming and competitive environment for female players of all experience levels, helping to create new opportunities and pathways within the sport.
At the same time, the launch of the Aston Warriors Junior Section demonstrates the club’s long-term commitment to grassroots rugby league. The junior programme is focused on developing young players in a safe, structured, and supportive setting, with an emphasis on enjoyment, teamwork, and skill development. These pathways ensure the future sustainability of rugby league in the local area.
